Pre-Conference Session: From Listening to Collaborating: The Enduring “How” of Parent Teacher Home Visits
Overview: It’s not what we do, but “how” we do it – and why that matters now. Born from two years of listening conversations led by parents, educators, and community organizers, Parent Teacher Home Visits grew from a belief that lasting change happens through relationships and collective action. We’ll revisit that origin story and consider how it continues to shape our core practices in today’s complex education landscape.
Join us to explore the powerful “how” of PTHV: voluntary participation, reflective practice, and collaboration across families, unions, and school systems. Engage with real examples and conversation as we discuss how centering trust and shared power deepens engagement, strengthens schools, and builds our collective capacity to meet this moment.
