New Opportunity

Individual Registration Training

Need to train just a few more educators? Join us on July 30, 2026 at 1 PM Eastern/ 10 AM Pacific for a live virtual training.

Schools grow. Staff turns over. Teachers join mid-year or arrive the fall after a district-wide PTHV training.  When a teacher or family-facing staff joins after their district’s PTHV training has already happened, the next opportunity to get everyone ready for authentic relationship-building with families doesn’t have to wait for the district to schedule another full training cycle.

The Individual Registration Training (IRT) from Parent Teacher Home Visits is designed specifically for schools and districts that have already made the commitment to the PTHV model and want to ensure that every educator on their team has received proper training. Rather than waiting for the next full district training cycle, your newest educators and school staff can join a focused, three-hour virtual session and gain the same grounding in relational practice, asset-based mindset, and the principles of the home visit model that their colleagues received.

What Participants
Gain

PTHV's IRT is led by the same experienced team of educators and parents who facilitate all PTHV training, bringing the same relational depth and reflective practice that practitioners across 32 states have come to trust. Teachers who complete this training will leave with a clear understanding of why home visits work, what the research says about their impact on student outcomes, and how to approach families with the curiosity and respect that defines the PTHV model. Whether or not an educator conducts a home visit the following week, shifting how they think about the families they serve is a profoundly worthwhile investment. Here are four benefits and outcomes for this training opportunity.

  • A grounding in the core beliefs and practices behind Parent Teacher Home Visits
  • Space to reflect on mindsets about families and the relationships that support student success
  • Preparation to participate more fully in a school or district culture rooted in partnership, respect, and trust
  • Practical readiness to conduct asset-based home visits with confidence, curiosity, and care
  • An understanding of the research behind why relational practice works, and what the evidence says about its impact on students and families
  • Firsthand perspective from families themselves, who share what home visits have meant to them and how those relationships carry into their children's learning at home
  • A live, accessible virtual learning experience that fits districts that need flexibility

Who Should Attend

The IRT is open to schools and districts that have previously trained with Parent Teacher Home Visits. Eligible participants include:

  • Teachers, social workers, counselors, and school staff — including family and community liaisons — who joined after their school or district's most recent PTHV training and have not yet received foundational training in the model.
  • Administrators and coaches who want to better understand and support the home visit practice at their school.
  • Principals or district leaders seeking a cost-effective way to extend training access to small groups.
  • Districts that trained with PTHV in recent years and are looking for a way to re-engage their broader educator community in relational family engagement.
  • All who want to strengthen their family-engagement practice through a relationship-centered lens.
