Parent Teacher Home Visits (PTHV) is a high-impact family engagement strategy designed to build trusting home-school partnerships centered on shared hopes and dreams. Recent studies reveal that PTHV’s model for relational home visits strengthens relationships, shifts mindsets, improves teaching, and bolsters student outcomes. These studies also reiterate how critically important implementation fidelity is to realizing the full potential that the model offers.

Twenty-five years ago, parent and community organizers joined forces with educators to pilot a home visit model to counter deeply-held mistrust and disrupt the cycle of blame between home and school.
Each year we release figures from our annual network census, tallying the growth and scale of our model of home visiting nationwide.
PTHV advances student success and school improvement by leveraging relationships, research, and a national network of partners to advance evidence-based practices in relational home visits within a comprehensive family engagement strategy.
PTHV is a nonprofit grassroots network that must raise its operating budget every year. Like the local home visit projects we help, our network is sustained by collaboration.
