Interim Executive Director
Rachel Brice is a nationally recognized, relationship-centered leader who believes lasting change begins with trust. As Interim Executive Director of Parent Teacher Home Visits (PTHV), she brings more than 25 years of experiences working alongside educators, families, and communities to advance educational equity, strengthen partnerships, and create systems where every child can thrive.
Since joining PTHV as Program Director in 2021, Rachel has helped shaped PTHV’s programs, partnerships, and strategic direction by designing a system of support that strengthens implementation across the country and leading the redesign of PTHV’s cornerstone Introduction to Home Visits training using Liberatory Design principles. She also serves on the California State Transformation Assistance Center for Community Schools, where she collaborates with state and regional leaders to advance community school transformation through authentic collaboration, shared decision-making, and strong home-school partnerships. Across her body of work, Rachel is known for developing people and systems, leading with empathy and curiosity, and helping organizations navigate complexity while staying grounded in their values.
Prior to PTHV, Rachel led the successful development and expansion of community schools in the 7th largest district in the country and previously served as Executive Director of the Sylvia Thomas Center for Foster and Adoptive Families. Her career has also included key roles in grant development, school social work, and classroom teaching, giving her broad perspective on the systems that shape opportunities for children, families, and communities.
Rachel holds a Master of Social Work with a concentration in Policy and Administration from Florida State University. She lives in Washington State with her husband and is the proud mom of a public school student. Her experiences as both a parent and a leader continue to reinforce her belief that every family deserves to feel seen, valued, and connected as partners in their child’s education.
PTHV advances student success and school improvement by leveraging relationships, research, and a national network of partners to advance evidence-based practices in relational home visits within a comprehensive family engagement strategy.
PTHV is a nonprofit grassroots network that must raise its operating budget every year. Like the local home visit projects we help, our network is sustained by collaboration.
