Jocelyn Graves Award

PTHV Honors

Jocelyn Graves was a parent seeking to forge a more productive relationship with her children’s school.

She galvanized families, educators, and community organizers to co-found the Parent Teacher Home Visit Project in 1998. A single mother with serious health issues, she nevertheless advocated tirelessly for her community and for education reform. Jocelyn Graves was a volunteer and trainer for PTHV until her passing in 2007. To honor her memory, PTHV recognizes a distinguished member of the education community with the Jocelyn Graves Award. This biennial award celebrates individuals who embody Graves’ passion for family engagement and educational excellence.
