The Parent Teacher Home Visits team is excited to return to the Institute for Educational Leadership’s (IEL) National Community Schools and Family Engagement Conference (CSxFE). Last year, our team traveled to Philadelphia for the annual conference. In addition to sharing the power of home visits and the evidence behind our model, we also hosted a celebratory reception in honor of our 25th anniversary. 

This year, our team will travel to Atlanta for another round of knowledge-sharing.  PTHV Program Manager, Heather Kilgore, along with national trainers April Ybarra and Christine Valento, will present a three-hour pre-conference session on Wednesday, May 29, 2024. The title is “Leveraging Parent Teacher Home Visits to Advance Equitable Teaching and Learning.” They will also deliver a workshop on Friday, May 31 at 9 am ET, entitled “Creating Relational Trust through Home Visit Practice.”

“Parent Teacher Home Visits (PTHV) is a time-tested and beloved family engagement strategy proven to strengthen relationships, shift mindsets, and improve student outcomes. Leveraging learning from our rigorous research and voices from the field, PTHV is boldly looking to the future with a clear vision of deepening educators’ practice of relational home visits in service of advancing equity in education. Join this interactive session to explore the impact of PTHV, as well as draw connections to current educational needs and initiatives across the country. Participants will have the opportunity to examine their own mindsets and practice, identify opportunities to leverage PTHV to support their broader teaching and learning goals, and offer recommendations for future innovations.”
