Join us for a complimentary 45-minute conversation to learn how relationship-centered home visits are helping districts reduce chronic absenteeism, strengthen family partnerships, and improve student outcomes.
Schools across the country are navigating real and persistent challenges, like chronic absenteeism, declining enrollment, eroding school climate, and the steady erosion of trust between educators and the families they serve. For nearly 30 years, Parent Teacher Home Visits has been helping districts address these challenges through a foundational practice with a proven record.
This free information session is designed for district and school leaders who want to understand what PTHV actually is, how the model works, and whether it could fit the priorities your community is already working toward.
Parent Teacher Home Visits is a national nonprofit that trains educators to conduct voluntary, relationship-centered home visits with the families of their students. Founded in Sacramento in 1998, the PTHV model now operates across 32 states, Washington, D.C., and Saskatchewan, Canada. The model is built on five non-negotiable core practices designed to ensure that every visit strengthens trust, honors family assets, and supports student success.

The session runs approximately 45 minutes and covers:
What relational home visits look like in practice, and how the PTHV approach differs from other home visit programs.
Two national evaluations found that schools implementing PTHV saw reductions in chronic absenteeism and gains in proficiency.
How districts are using PTHV to advance their strategic priorities, from improving attendance to rebuilding family trust to supporting educator retention.
A look at what launching and sustaining the practice requires, and how PTHV supports schools through every stage of implementation.
We’ll reserve the final 15 minutes for your questions.

PTHV is a nonprofit grassroots network that must raise its operating budget every year. Like the local home visit projects we help, our network is sustained by collaboration.
