Quarterly Training Spotlight: Q1 2026

For nearly 30 years, PTHV has trained thousands of educators to conduct relational home visits. The core of our training program, Introduction to Home Visits, prepares educators to do home visits with fidelity.

In Q1, our training team facilitated 17 of these trainings with 15 partners, both virtually and in-person across eight states. This round of trainings was extra special because it included four sessions in conjunction with a new and exciting initiative, WE-Leadbringing the Parent Teacher Home Visits model to three Wisconsin communities through a partnership with the National Education Association (NEA) and three of Wisconsin’s most respected local teacher unions: Madison Teachers Inc. (MTI), the Milwaukee Teachers’ Education Association (MTEA), and Racine Educators United.

In addition, we welcomed five new partners this quarter: Apache Elementary School, Bakersfield City School District, Humboldt County Office of Education, Western Placer Unified School District, and El Paso Independent School District.

What the data shows

Of the 300+ educators trained in Q1:

  • 73% said they would recommend our introductory training to a colleague.
  • 82% said they felt either a lot or significantly prepared to complete a PTHV home visit.
  • Nearly 80% said they are very likely or extremely likely to complete at least one PTHV home visit within the next year.

Who did we train?

Each one of these trainings brings us one step closer to our hope and dream of every student and family receiving a home visit using the PTHV model. Introduction to Home Visits is just the beginning. Following initial training, PTHV offers a suite of implementation support services designed to help schools and districts sustain and deepen the practice over time. These include leadership onboarding to align school and district leaders around the model, home visit practice coaching to support educators as they build confidence and consistency in the field, technical assistance to address site-specific challenges, and annual home visit debrief sessions that create space for reflection and continued growth. Whether your team is just getting started or looking to strengthen an established program, we are here to help. Visit pthvp.org/training-and-services to learn more, or reach out to us directly at info@pthvp.org to start the conversation. Stay tuned for more quarterly reports about our introductory training.

PTHV advances student success and school improvement by leveraging relationships, research, and a national network of partners to advance evidence-based practices in relational home visits within a comprehensive family engagement strategy.
